Spring in the time of coronavirus…

It is a strange time to be starting a new venture, when all human interaction seems suspended in time, but the Earth keeps turning and nature waits for no one, so I must start now or wait another year! If all goes well, by August, some vegetables and flowers will be ready for the farmer’s market, and the field will be prepared for the orchard and asparagus next year. I am excited and yet I feel as if I were at the top of the rollercoaster, in that extended second before the car goes over the edge and the ride starts in earnest.

Nevertheless, I’m glad that nature has set this deadline for me. I’ve spent too much time over the last months of quarantining planning and worrying about my own personal demons. It’s time to just get up and get growing along with all the other creatures in this blessed Spring.

I hope that everyone who reads this is well, and remains that way.

All the best -

Susan
